Sulfate (SLS/SLES)

A type of surfactant — specifically sodium lauryl sulfate or sodium laureth sulfate — commonly found in shampoos and body washes. They create that satisfying lather but can be too stripping for facial skin or sensitive skin types. Gentler alternatives are often used in face cleansers designed for younger or more reactive skin.
