Blue Light
You've probably heard this one come up around screen time — and for good reason. Blue light is a type of visible light emitted by phones, tablets, laptops and LED screens. Unlike UVA and UVB rays, it doesn't burn your skin but emerging research suggests that prolonged exposure may contribute to oxidative stress in skin cells which over time can affect skin health. For teens spending long hours on devices, it's worth knowing that antioxidant rich skincare and ingredients that actively support hydration and barrier function — like Hybloom in our Hydrate Me Soothing Moisturiser — may offer a layer of support.
Beyond skin though, blue light has a well established effect on melatonin production — meaning evening screen time can disrupt your sleep cycle and we already know how much skin loves a good night's sleep.
